Adding to the exhibition of 05/06 the story was extended to include the development of the Palmer River Gold Field Area. Also included were slide shows of what remains of the Cooktown Laura Railway and also the Old Coach Road. In 2008 we won the Queensland national Trust Community Gold Award, not only for our display but also the work of our Research Centre.
